With the holiday season here, you probably need some quick and easy party food ideas that are different than your standard party fare. I know I tend to just take the same thing to parties and I don’t want to be known as the girl who only always brings wine or champagne. Who am I kidding, yes I do. But I’d also like my friends and total strangers to think I’m actually capable of providing food for them.
If you know me, you know I love cheese. Like it may possibly be the most committed relationship in my life to this point. So I had to come up with something involving cheese and my second favorite love, bread. And that’s how the Apple Brie Crostini became my favorite party snack.
The great part about this, is that they are super easy to make.
You’re going to need:
2 Granny Smith Apples
Brie Wheel
Honey
Baguette
A few handfuls of pecans, walnuts, whatever you want
Baking sheet
Heat oven to 425
Start by cutting your baguette into thin slices. I really recommend using parchment paper to bake these on. That way you don’t really have to clean anything up.
Next, slice your brie and apples into thin slices. Or not so thin slices, I don’t know anyone who would turn down more brie. And if you meet someone who does turn it down, immediately turn around and walk away because that person is dead to you.
Just go ahead and stack your brie and apples on your bread slices. Then put your pecan on top. Go ahead and pop these in the oven for 5-10 minutes. Just to get the cheese kind of melty.
What I like to do is take them out at 5 minutes, pour a little honey on and pop them back in for another few minutes. That way you get some of the honey melted in with your cheese.
After a few more minutes of prime cheese melting, take them out and go ahead and pour more honey on top. You can put them on a fancy platter or you can just straight up serve these in all their cheesy glory on the pan.
I also recommend serving these straight from the oven for maximum warm cheesy deliciousness.
