At Home Spa Day

at home spa day

Is there anything better than a day of doing absolutely nothing? I’ve been trying to have phone-free Sundays lately which leaves me with a surprising amount of free time. A few things I’ve been doing instead have been reading more and trying new recipes. I’ve also been treating myself to at home spa days.

I’m bad about multi-masking; doing a face mask while working on my computer or cleaning my apartment. But setting aside time with nothing else to do but focus on my skin has been so luxurious. Something I’ve been doing inconsistently for years is remembering to use my quartz roller. It’s one of the things I’ve included in my Sunday spa routine and my skin is looking so much better for it.

I am loving the Summer Fridays Jet Lag mask because it is super hydrating. My skin is oily which means I need to use moisturizing products to keep it from breaking out. Another mask I have been loving is the Glossier Mega Greens Galaxy mask. It detoxifies and also adds in nutrients from the leafy greens and fruits from which it’s made. I use the Glossier mask first to get rid of excess oil and dirt before using any other products.

After masking and rolling and all the good skin things, I’ve been avoiding wearing makeup on those days. So I follow up my routine with the Trish McEvoy Beauty Booster Oil. It’s a dry oil so it goes on without leaving any sticky feeling or residue. It’s meant to be used daily. I usually mix two drops in with my foundation which helps it stay on all day with my oily skin.

I’ve noticed a huge difference in how soft my skin has become since I began using this oil. It’s a little pricey, but one bottle could last you a really long time. I’ve been using it every single day for about 8 months and have used about 1/8th of the bottle.

And then I finish up my Sunday at home spa day by reading a magazine or a book and doing absolutely nothing. It is maybe the best routine I’ve ever had.

Do you have any at home spa day routines? Are you thinking of doing phone-free days? I’d love to know what you do to disconnect, leave your favorites in the comments!
