Summer is officially here and I could not be happier. I could live in only dresses, sandals, and straw bags for the rest of my life. I will concede that summer does have a minor downfall: strapless bra season. For as long as I can remember I dreaded having to wear a dress or top that required wearing a strapless bra. I’ve always stuck with only buying things that you could wear a real bra with or anything that was study enough to not need a bra. But over the past year I’ve been testing a few different ones recommended by friends, bloggers, and random strangers on the Internet and I’ve narrowed it down to give you the best strapless bras.
Overall Winner – LIVELY Lace Strapless
I’m just going to jump right to the champion of the bunch: the LIVELY Lace Strapless bra. This is the first strapless bra I’ve ever owned that I didn’t spend all day adjusting. It is so comfortable and the fact it doesn’t have any padding or lining is this 34D girl’s dream. I actually prefer an unlined strapless bra because I’m usually wearing it when it’s hot and sweaty and gross out and I don’t need more layers. I loved it so much I ordered it in both colors. The lace looks really pretty on which if you’re over a C cup, you know that’s not a thing anyone ever says about your bras. It’s always about function, not fashion. LIVELY delivers when it comes to function, design, comfort, price, and being seriously pretty.

The One Everyone Loves – Wacoal Red Carpet Convertible Bra
Everyone told me to try this bra and when I say everyone, I mean EVERYONE. This is the answer I got most immediately and enthusiastically when I asked what strapless bra people love. So I ordered one immediately. I immediately liked that it didn’t have a super wide band, which is usually what you see on a strapless bra over a C cup. I’m usually fine with it because it feels more secure, but this one felt just as secure even with a smaller band. The cups on this are also lined. I really loved everything about this bra and would definitely recommend it for any size.
The Unexpected One – Aerie Sunnie Strapless Lightly Lined Bra
I shop at Aerie pretty sporadically for bralettes or swimsuits, but it’s never occurred to me to look at the regular bras. So it kind of surprised me when several people recommended this strapless bra. I used to have the best strapless bra ever from American Eagle way back before Aerie existed and when we were all wearing graphic tees, low rise pants, and ugly brown shoes. So I thought yes of course I should try Aerie.
My honest thoughts are that it’s a great strapless bra up to a C cup. It’s definitely meant for smaller busted girls which feels expected from the brand. But even at a 34D it felt pretty comfortable, the band fit great, and it was the right amount of lining. The price on this is also a huge plus.
The One With The Smooth Lines – Soma Stunning Support Strapless Bra
I’m a big fan of Soma and their vanishing back line of bras. I wear this one as an everyday bra for work because it’s full coverage and is smooth across your back so it shows no lines. It’s also a great bra for larger chests because the support is so good. I never have back or shoulder pain with it. So when I started looking for strapless bras to try I went to Soma. The most popular one they have is the stunning support. It has a little bit wider band, but it smooths everything out which is the best. It’s also made for anyone 34D and larger which is awesome because it’s rare that bra looks great and is made for a large bust. I definitely recommend this one!
My top pick from all of these was the LIVELY Lace Strapless because I love an unlined, feminine, lacy bra.
