Only 4 more days until Christmas, can you even believe it?? I finished up all my Christmas shopping over the weekend. Yes I even braved the mall the Saturday before Christmas. I hate the madness of the mall, but it really is one of the best days of the year for deals. I had a few last minute gifts to pick up and managed to get everything at a steal. So now I just need to finish wrapping which is something I truly don’t love. So if anyone wants to come over and wrap all my gifts this week, that would be great.
I’m heading to Illinois to spend the holidays with my family later this week and Chuck is very excited for a weekend of all his people sitting in one room together. I’ve got his Christmas PJs all packed and ready to go.
Something I’ve been struggling with this year is finding different ways to dress for a casual holiday party. I have a few casual parties this year which is super fun but kind of difficult to dress for when you can’t just wear the same outfit. My go to is always a nice top and jeans, because are you even a woman if you don’t plan to wear a nice top and jeans? I almost always wear black jeans these days because honestly they are just my favorite pair I own right now. I live in these J.Crew jeans because they have a high waist and are stretchy. So they are basically super comfy. I’m definitely wearing them to a few holiday parties with my new favorite top.
I love the cold shoulder trend because it’s a great way to show just a little skin without freezing to death in the Winter. I actually picked up this top in both black and white because I loved it so much. It looks perfect with jeans and a long necklace. I’m a big fan of the loose top especially during party season. I have a hard time passing up party foods, shoutout to all forms of cheese, so loose tops are always necessary.
I usually choose a really simple outfit and then add a pair of statement heels. It’s the easiest way to get the most out of your clothes, buying simple, nice pieces and being able to mix them up by just changing your accessories. I absolutely love these gold glitter heels which are a complete steal. I am a huge fan of Nine West heels for my budget brand. I know I am always a size 9 and that they will be comfortable. They are my go to for everyday work heels because I tend to wear them out really quickly just because I wear them so much. I have worn these gold heels a few times and they are just so fun and a great way to get a party shoe without spending a ton.
