I am beyond excited that we are having an early Spring. I’ve made no secret that I am a warm weather person and Winter is the worst for me. I’m definitely sad that obviously it’s because of global warming, but the selfish part of me just wants to feel the hot sun on my face. I always feel new motivation when the weather starts to warm up. It somehow feels easier to get up earlier and work out or to set some new goals for the season and get down to work. Banana Republic’s Spring campaign is What Moves You and for me a whole new season feels like a new beginning and gets me motivated.

For me, renewed work motivation usually comes in the form of clothes. I know this sounds kind of silly, but how I dress for work really affects the way I feel. When I’m starting to feel in a work rut, I pick up a new blouse or new patterned pants or a skirt to just mix things up. It’s amazing how one piece of clothing can really give you new energy with your wardrobe. The right dress or pantsuit can make me feel like a total Girlboss.

Banana Republic has always been my go-to for work clothes because they get my love of neutrals and mixing in an occasional print. All my suits are from BR and I can’t tell you how many tops I have. Versatility is important for me because during the day I’m in a suit and tie environment, but when I’m at events as an influencer I dress down more. I need pieces that can work for both, which is why I love this drape top so much. I can wear it during the day with my suit jacket and pants and for an event or date night I can throw on a pair of skinny jeans with it.

Another bonus of warm weather so soon is being able to wear skirts again without tights! As a rather pale girl, I didn’t used to love wearing skirts so early in Spring. But part of the ability for clothes to change your attitude is that the right skirt or dress just makes me not care that I’m a whole other shade of clear.

For me the idea behind ‘What Moves You’ is really what gives me confidence in myself and clothes are such a huge expression of that. I pretty much always think of myself as a badass Girlboss, but with the start of a new season I feel ready to tackle new goals and challenges. And I’m wearing my best Girlboss power outfits to do it.

How do you feel renewed motivation and energy? Does anyone else use clothes to give a little extra confidence?
