So I’ve been having lots of wanderlust this summer. In particular I’ve been really desperate to go back to Paris.
My love of Paris and all things Parisian probably affects 8 out of every 10 decisions I make. So it’s no wonder I’ve really been feeling some Parisian summer style this August.
So it’s probably not surprising that my summer wardrobe has had a ton of Parisian inspiration.
One of my favorite summer accessories is a good straw hat. More specifically, this summer I’ve been obsessed with this boater hat. It just goes so perfectly with every outfit, it’s like we were meant to be together.
I feel like I should be wearing it while wandering Île Saint-Louis in this, maybe not so much the streets of Saint Louis, MO.
A wardrobe staple of mine is also the high waisted short. As someone who has a pretty flat caboose, it’s important my pants stay up somehow without rocking the ’90s mom super high-waist, knee-length shorts with a belt.
The one majorly Parisian style I’m happy to keep in my everyday life is the ballet flat. I basically live in ballet flats year round.
When I was working in New York, I got in the habit of wearing my flats on the subway to work and changing to my heels at my desk. This definitely saved my heels from getting worn out and bonus my feet felt great while still looking cute. I’ve kept this habit pretty religiously even though I now drive to work everyday.
Even in summer I wear my flats instead of sandals sometimes. I just think they look especially cute with my high waisted shorts.
