Spring Dresses & Bowood Farms

Bowood Farms

You know what they say, April Showers bring May flowers. Well that seems highly likely since it has been raining for almost four days straight in St. Louis. I’m actually glad it’s been raining so much because my allergies have been out of control the past week. I basically spent the majority of last week on my couch or in bed. So now I’m caught up on a bunch of movies and TV which is always great.

But now that May flowers are coming, I had to go pick up a few from my favorite spot in St. Louis, Bowood Farms.

If you’re on the hunt for all things garden and flowers then Bowood is spot to go. Nestled in the Central West End, you’ll see the main building which has lots of stationary, gifts, and cute little houseplants. Truth time, I’ve killed two different houseplants from Bowood that were not supposed to die so easily. So they sort of cringe when I walk in. You know, like the grim reaper of houseplants.

Really the best part of Bowood is Cafe Osage which has breakfast and lunch and some of the most delicious lattes. When the weather’s nice, you can sit outside in the garden and enjoy all the greenery. I recommend the BrieLT or the herb and goat cheese omelet. They have a full bar too, so it’s the perfect place to grab an afternoon cocktail and enjoy the sun we’ve so desperately missed all Winter.

The pink buildings and bougainvillea look like a scene out of Italy instead of St. Louis. And if you aren’t sure what you’re doing or need help figuring out what to plant and when, everyone is super helpful. If you want to start your own vegetable garden, they have a list of when to plant things, etc. I appreciate all the help I can get when it comes to not killing unsuspecting plants.

If you haven’t already, you need to make a visit to Bowood Farms this Spring at the top of your list.

I’m wearing my favorite dress I’ve picked up this season and plan to wear all summer, find it here for well under $100. It’s been selling out and restocking, so if your size/color isn’t available now, check back frequently. I also love this option which is similar and has the adorable button detail and better if you’re not a strapless bra girl. I picked up this similar dress to which is on major sale for less than $40. I included lots more of my favorite under $100 dresses below, just click through to see all the options.

Have you been to Bowood yet? Any favorite local home and garden places where you live?
