Turtleneck Season

Now that the new year is here I’ve been busy clearing out my closet. I’ve actually been on a mission the past 6 months to minimize my wardrobe. It’s been going pretty slow, but I’ve been making progress. I think it’s more about just learning to be more creative with the things I have instead of buying more.

The one thing I’ve come to realize I had none of was turtlenecks. Luckily, I made up for it this year by getting about 8 new ones. And I have worn them nonstop. I used to hate turtlenecks because I felt like I had a double chin and no neck and they looked terrible on me. Anyone else have this struggle?

I don’t know if they actually look better on me now or if I’m just getting to an age where frankly I just don’t give a f**k. I’m hoping it’s the former, but realistically it’s probably a combination.

Obviously every turtleneck I’ve bought so far is cream, pink, or grey. Huge surprise. But I thought if I bought them in my favorite colors I’d actually wear them. And I’m definitely following through.

I picked up this pink coat at H&M way back in August for like $20. And have proceeded to wear it every single day. I found a few similar options for you here, here, and here.

All last winter I complained that I just wanted a collarless coat and couldn’t find one. So of course I find one when its 100 degrees out. I always end up finding my winter coats in completely the wrong season.

I am also obsessed with these heels. I picked them up last week at the Nordstrom half-yearly sale for a major deal. You can find them here. They also make a version in flats, here. I just think these are a much better option for me than the real Valentino pair. One day, my precious, one day.
