Mondays in the Summer just feel so much more difficult than Mondays the rest of the year, am I right? You have such a great weekend of sun, pools, frozen drinks, outdoor dining and then bam you’re back in the office while it’s still beautiful out. Maybe I just appreciate Summer weekends more living in the Midwest as a person who absolutely hates Winter. I know lots of people who get Summer Fridays at work, but I mean I’m looking for Summer Mondays where you just get every Monday off or at least every other Monday. Who’s with me?

The only thing that brings me a little bit of motivation for Mondays lately is updating my work wardrobe with Summer trends. My current favorite is wide leg crop pants. I’ve been looking for the right pair for what feels like months, but was probably a week. I happened upon this amazing blue and white pair and knew they had to be mine. I’ve worn them a few times to work and everyone seems to agree they are the most adorable. Not to brag, but I did wear them to an urgent care while I had pneumonia and 4 different people there said they were super cute, soooo….

I know it can feel daunting to try out such a bold trend that has wide in the title, but it’s definitely doable. I have some curves, so wide leg pants feel like a trend that would show off my least favorite parts. Weirdly, I feel like they make my curves slimmer instead of 100 times wider. I love that they sit high on my waist, so they accentuate the slimmest part of me. I compare them to wearing a midi skirt almost because the legs are so wide, it isn’t like they are hugging your curves and showing them off.

I really bought my pair in a blue and white dream daze and didn’t really think through what I’d wear on top. When it’s 95 degrees out it feels like a no brainer to throw on a white tee and some jewelry and call it done. When your pants are the statement, just go simple on top so you don’t overwhelm yourself in fabric and different shapes. If you’re a more advanced fashion gal feel free to play with oversize button downs or a loose bell sleeve top.

For work I throw on a simple pair of pumps or an open-toe block heel. But if you’re more of a flats girl, I’d totally wear these with some simple slides, like these. The high waist makes your legs look a bit longer, so you can get away with a flat shoe for a professional setting.

Have you tried the wide leg crop pant trend yet? Anyone else love it? Hate it?
