I have no doubt that summer is in full swing now. It has been so hot the past few weeks it’s been hard to find anything for work that doesn’t make me sweat profusely. Luckily my weekend style has been pretty easy to deal with in the heat, i.e. mostly swimsuits.

A few weekends ago I met up with some girlfriends at the Missouri History Museum to see the Little Black Dress exhibit. If you have the chance to go I definitely recommend it. It details the history of the little black dress and it’s part in the history of fashion and includes lots of dresses from every decade/century. There are a few genuine designer pieces included like a gorgeous Dior dress that I would very much like to own. We spent the morning at the museum and then headed to Brasserie for lunch. Brasserie is one of my favorite burgers in the city plus they have beignets!

I wore my new favorite white tie-front dress since it was supposed to be almost 100 that day. Just walking through the park to get to the museum had me ready to turn around and go home to my pool. I figured since it was too hot for a little black dress a little white dress was the best alternative. I love this dress because it’s super lightweight and comfy which makes it perfect for hot summer days. I also wore this dress while I was in Chicago a few weeks ago for a long day of shopping and wine drinking. It’s quickly become my favorite dress to wear on the weekends because it goes with just everything.

I also picked up this sunglass bag at the Kate Spade outlet while I was on vacation in May. Well I happened to be at the outlet this week for lunch and found this exact bag on clearance, but another 50% off which makes it $35. Also they just got some cute new goodies in and handbags are 50% off plus another 20% off. I grabbed a black coat with the bow collar for more than half off and some cute jewelry. For the St. Louis girls, this is like a ridiculous deal and totally worth the trip to the outlet in the heat this weekend.

Did anyone else love the little black dress exhibit? Or planning to go?
